Update 6/29/23: Ok, I am pretty sure all the episodes are now accounted for and labeled correctly.
Astronomer Carl Sagan's landmark 13-part science series takes you on an awe-inspiring cosmic journey to the edge of the Universe and back aboard the spaceship of the imagination.
In the course of 13 fascinating hours, Cosmos spans its own galaxy of topics to serve Sagan's theme, each segment deepening our understanding of how we got from there (simple microbes in the primordial mud) to here (space-faring civilization in the 21st century). In his "ship of the imagination," Sagan guides us to the farthest reaches of space and takes us back into the history of scientific inquiry, from the ancient library of Alexandria to the NASA probes of our neighboring planets. Upon this vast canvas Sagan presents the "cosmic calendar," placing the 15-billion-year history of the universe into an accessible one-year framework, then filling it with a stunning chronology of events, both interstellar and earthbound.
Topics covered include:
The 15-billion year history of the Universe; the evolution of life on Earth and what forms life might take on other worlds; Johannes Kepler, the first modern astronomer; the hellish atmosphere of Venus and the threat of the Greenhouse Effect on Earth; the search for life on Mars; the 17th century exploration of the Earth; the Voyager missions to Jupiter and Saturn; the possibility of time travel; Einstein's theories; the life cycle of stars; determining the origin of the Universe; the brain and the evolution of intelligence; how we might communicate with alien civilizations; the continued survival of the human race versus the threat of nuclear destruction.

This is full of nostalgia, Carl Sagan's voice transports you to the edge of the universe. I am in love with this series. I have seen it multiple times and I would recommend everyone should at least watch it once with their kids.

I have this on DVD. It literally brings a tear to my eye to see this on archive.org. Sagan and the Cosmos series is an inspiration.
I was forbidden to watch this as a teenager when it aired on PBS because it speaks of evolution. So, I bought the book. I still have that tattered book. The stories told in this series sparks the imagination. I urge everyone to sit down and share these stores with their children.

Thank you for uploading!
=== update: the below is fixed now ===
It seems that episodes 5-9 are wrongly titled:
ep. 5 - is in fact a duplicate of ep. 4 (Heaven and Hell)
ep. 6 - is the real ep. 5 (Blues for a Red Planet)
ep. 7 - is ep. 6 (Travellers' Tales)
ep. 8 - is ep. 7 (The Backbone of Night)
ep. 9 - is ep. 8 (Journeys in Space and Time)
starting from ep. 10 everything is fine.
This also means that real episode 9 (The Lives of the Stars) is missing.

Hail Sagan and KCET for uploading the entire 1980 Cosmos series here, it's still one of the best science documentaries ever
-- Also confirming the comment below, the real Episode #9 is missing and #5-9 are mislabeled.

Thanks, it's excellent work to keep this scientific divulgation available for everyone. Only a warning, the episode 4 (Heaven and Hell) is missing. The file of the episode 4 contains episode 2 (One Voice in the Cosmic Fugue).
